The Mac mini is available in three customisable configurations – including models with 1.4GHz, 2.6GHz and 2.8GHz fourth-gen Intel Core i5 processors (you can add an i7 chip at checkout). Apple says their Intel HD 5000 and Intel Iris integrated graphics are up to 90 percent faster, and the Mac mini line-up now includes support for 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Thunderbolt 2.

Other specs include 8- or 16GB of RAM, a 1TB hard drive, 256-, 512GB or 1TB SSD or a 1TB Fusion drive, four USB 3.0 ports, two Thunderbolt 2 ports, an HDMI connection, Bluetooth 4.0 and gigabit ethernet.

Apple claims the new Mac mini is still the most energy-efficient desktop PC, exceeding Energy Star 6.1 requirements by seven times the standard.

The new Mac mini runs brand-new OS X Yosemite and comes with iMovie, GarageBand and iWork software.
